Functie omschrijving

We are recruiting for a Trade Manager for one of our clients.

As a Trade Manager you are part of the local trade organization, you are leading a trade team responsible for the implementation of the overall trade objectives as set by Head Office within the Dutch sales organization.

By daily reviewing the vessel optimization, you will steer local sales activities and will set sales targets. You will also be tasked with ensuring the pricing is up to date and competitive while maintaining a healthy cargo mix that safeguards the contribution targets.

General management
Guides, coaches and supports the Trade team and monitors/ measures performance, the workload and ensures the best possible processes are in place
Optimize and manage cargo mix for Import, Export and X-trade
Meet or exceed trade budget and develop annual trade business plan
Initiate and run specific sales campaigns

Allocation management
Daily manage and optimize vessel allocations
Coordinate allocation adjustments
Manage roll pools and create transparency on that
Coordinate equipment needs
Build vessel profile per string and daily compare versus actuals to track missing shippers. Findings need to be actioned to sales
Estimate future performance and initiate spot actions to sales teams
Manage and set customer specific allocations as per contract agreement

Business Intelligence
Provide and maintain a SWOT analysis of competitors and continuously action your findings
Analyse and benchmark local charges in Dutch market

Pricing Management
Use pricing tool for insight on business requests and quote analysis
Provide pricing guidelines to NL sales for all trades
Coordinate with Line Management to ensure that provided guidelines are competitive
Analyse and initiate follow up on quote requests and ensure competitiveness of quotes
Fill out local tenders while coordinating with Head Office and Account Manager
Assessment of BAF clauses and exposure of boiler plate conditions
Manage and communicate additional surcharges

Reporting & Analysis
Set up daily dashboard with performance and follow up
Perform market analysis and identify opportunities/ leads
Monthly safeguard NL market shares
Monitor performance per customer
Have 80% of NL market identified
Recommend service improvement through market studies
Deliver weekly Stat of the Trade report
Monthly analyse import FOB cargo (NL controlled)

Meetings Daily review and discuss utilizations and define short term actions
Weekly Trade presentation for Sales to present utilizations and actions
Attend conference calls with Head Office
Visit Head Office on a frequent base
Attend weekly Sales meeting

Functie eisen

Minimum education:

Minimum relevant work experience:
2 - 4 years

Management experience:
Less than 2 years

Fluent in Dutch and English
Knowledge of MS Office software, CRM software
Driver’s license

Good communication skills (oral & written)
Customer focused and result driven
Building long term relationships

Good decision quality and problem solving skills
Able to create and deliver presentations
Strong negotiation skills, able to close deals
Strong analytical skills

Other requirements:
Domestic / international travelling can be required
Willingness to work outside of regular office hours
Sales related tasks as required by management
Adhere to company guidelines and procedures
